I make drawings and paintings about the way things and people look — their personal, metaphoric and art historical connotations. With curiosity and affection, I depict likeness and have discovered that in investigating my subjects I find beauty and a connection to a vast pool of human stories. My work was exhibited in 2010 at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art in a solo show, Moments In Between and can be viewed at http://www.barbarashark.com

My work is in the collection of the Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minneapolis, MN, the Plains Art Museum, Fargo, ND, Kaiser Permanente, Boulder and Denver, CO and University Hospital, Denver, CO.
