Gouache was written in response to artist Sally Elliott’s painting, Upstream Mussels (originally posted here on May 23, 2015).
She and I were luckily paired in a “Write, I See” ekphrasis event co-hosted by the Arts Student League of Denver and Lighthouse Writers House in 2013.
