Voyage, High Definition Video, 2010, 3:30
Pat Law studied Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art and Ecological Sciences at Edinburgh University. Her work is prompted by observation of the landscape and cultures encountered through sailing voyages or travel and crosses over a range of visual media and forms, often in collaboration with artists of different disciplines.
Recent work stems from journeys around arctic regions including Iceland, and a sailing expedition around Svalbard which was shown at Verksmiðjunni á Hjalteyri, a disused herring factory in the north of Iceland. She is currently working on a project in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland looking at the land and the people and how they connect.
She shows experimental work in a horse-box which she trails around rural areas and runs Heriot Toun Studio, a multipurpose award-winning arts space in the Scottish Borders. http://www.studiolog.heriot-toun.co.uk
